Collecting Stamps for Charity

This is something near and dear to me since I suffer from Chiari and syringomyelia. To learn more about Chiari Click here. To learn more about Syringomyelia Click here

The American Syringomyelia & Chiari Alliance Project, Inc. (ASAP) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) donor- supported organization founded in1988 by Barbara and Don White. ASAP began as a grass roots organization in the White’s spare bedroom due to the frustration they encountered when Barbara was diagnosed with Chiari malformation and syringomyelia. Since then, ASAP has grown tremendously but our fundamental goals of research, education and support remain the same.

ASAP members began collecting canceled postage stamps as a fundraiser in the early 1990s. A favorite project for many, these stamps have raised thousands of dollars.
Cut stamp from envelope leaving a 1/4 inch border. They must be in good condition; damaged stamps are not usable. Although commemorative stamps bring in more money, everyday flag stamps are also of value.

This is so easy to do especially for people that work in an office setting that get letters mailed everyday. If you are interested in helping please contact me @ tialynch@rocketmail.com
